I don't even know where to start!! This little sushi place packs a punch as their fish is incredibly fresh, their food overall is incredibly flavorful and authentic, yet the prices are such a great deal too--to add on, they are located right in the midst of a tourist attraction, which makes it even more surprising!
I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting Little Tokyo to come to this restaurant (which is only open for dinner) about 10-20 minutes early and experience really good Japanese food and pleasant service. The only negative here is that the restaurant is tiny and has minimal seating, but you can't have it all! -

Komasa is still the big delight for sushi in Little Tokyo. After so many years, their consistency is still on par with being top of their culinary game.
Wait times still is long at peak days & hours, and sometimes they may rush you out to turn the tables, but the fish quality is no different from a Friday or a Monday.
Still one of the best Spicy Tuna in LA with their multiple layers of spiciness. -

Some of the best sushi I've ever had for perfect prices. You can order off a more formal menu for big entrees, but I (and most people I think) order a la carte off the sushi list. Prices on that menu are listed by the type of fish, regardless of whether you want a cut roll, hand roll, or pair of sushi pieces (fish over rice).
I had salmon belly sushi, salmon sushi, a yellowtail cut roll, and a freshwater eel avocado cut roll. Both types of salmon were especially awesome and had a nearly melt in your mouth texture. Every piece I got was of super fresh quality, came with great rice and a bit of wasabi tucked inside, and all together totaled to only $22 before tip. Truly wild for LA standards!
The service here is friendly and fast, and I was seated immediately on an early Sunday evening. If you're coming on a Friday or Saturday night though, be prepared to wait since this place is tiny. But it's so, SO worth it! -

Tbh, the 3 stars isn't for a lack of trying. The wait staff is attentive. Came back by swiftly whenever I had a question or needed a refill of tea without question or attitude. The food also came out fairly promptly. And the fish was decently fresh. And honestly, $29 total for 13 pieces of nigiri is not a bad deal.
My overall issue with the meal was the rice. I seriously went back and forth deciding whether or not to get sashimi, sashimi salad or straight up nigiri...and while I luvvv my serving of sashimi, it can sometimes be too much on its own! Thus, I landed on the Combo C (mix of 11 nigiris) and an order of uni nigiri bc, well, uni is life haha. Do I now regret having ordered the nigiri? Yes.
While the fish tasted was fine, the array options of in the Combo C were the mediocre basics. Nothing to go home and talk about. And the rice was simply too wet and overcooked imo.
Come for decent prices. And your quick sushi fix. -

Came to Little Tokyo for the first time, and decided to try this place out!
The art of great sushi is simplicity.
We ordered assorted sashimi, various rolls of sushi, and salmon nigiri. AND GIRL, LET ME SAY THAT THE SASHIMI SLICES WERE THICCC.
The rolls were delicious (we ordered salmon skin, eel, tuna, and the spider roll) and not too overwhelming. The salmon skin roll was a little too salty, but that's legit the only critique I have.
We came around closing time, but they still gave great service. Our order came out fast and the waitresses were very polite.
I'm in love with this place and will be coming back again. Definitely would recommend this place if you're ever in Little Tokyo!
